Tax Time is Upon Us
Welcome to tax season:
Here are some tools to help the process!
MyFreeTaxes is a service provided by United Way. It helps people file their own taxes or, for those with income of less than $60,000 and meeting other qualifications, can help people get their taxes prepared for them.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides tax assistance focused on low-income taxpayers over 50 years of age. AARP will soon launch a Site Locator Tool to help your patrons find program locations.
Unemployment benefits are taxable, and you may have questions about the 1099-G form they will receive. The WI Dept of Revenue has 1099-G Tax statement information on their website.
*What information is on a 1099-G tax form?
Unemployment benefits paid to you
Federal and state income taxes withheld from your benefits
Repayments of overpaid benefits
