Tax Time is Upon Us

Welcome to tax season:

Here are some tools to help the process!

  • MyFreeTaxes is a service provided by United Way. It helps people file their own taxes or, for those with income of less than $60,000 and meeting other qualifications, can help people get their taxes prepared for them.

  • AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides tax assistance focused on low-income taxpayers over 50 years of age. AARP will soon launch a Site Locator Tool to help your patrons find program locations.

  • Unemployment benefits are taxable, and you may have questions about the 1099-G form they will receive. The WI Dept of Revenue has 1099-G Tax statement information on their website.

*What information is on a 1099-G tax form? 

  • Unemployment benefits paid to you 

  • Federal and state income taxes withheld from your benefits 

  • Repayments of overpaid benefits

*Where do I get my 1099-G tax form?

  • View or print a copy of your current or previous year forms online: https://my.unemployment.wisconsin.gov

At the Drummond Public Library we are here to help with free printing of any tax forms you may need. The public computers are free to use, without a patron card, anytime we are open.
